Welcome to
Chopping Block Woodcraft. I began working with
wood in my high school shop classes that were taught by a talented
craftsman whose enthusiasm was contagious and inspiring. I try
to bring that same spirit to my work and I hope it shows.
I use native hardwoods for the cutting
boards and kitchen utensils and will occasionally use reclaimed
wood to create new items. I also use a limited number of non-endangered
exotic woods that are harvested in an ecologically sustainable
manner. When possible I try to find out where the wood was
harvested.
All of my work is hand finished with
a mixture of beeswax and food grade mineral oil that gives
the wood a silky smooth finish. The finish will have to be
renewed from time to time as multiple washings will remove
it.
Thank you for
taking the time to look at my offerings and feel free to contact
me if you have any questions or comments.
